The Cardinal's Grading app takes 8 cards per submission, 4 submissions at once, plus $10 shipping on top of a $10 to $1,500 per-card price. Grades run 1 to 10.
Grading is a high variance money loop in TCG Card Shop Simulator. The app is a coin flip machine with a shipping invoice attached, and your profit depends on the service you pick, the value the game rolled for that card on your save file, and how often a 10 actually lands.
The app and its hard limits
The Grading app arrived in update 0.60, recorded on the wiki as “the Cardinal’s Grading app”. Two numbers define the pipeline: up to 8 cards per submission, and a maximum of 4 active submissions at once, so 32 cards in transit is the ceiling. Every submission carries a flat $10 shipping fee, and orders submitted after 1 PM begin processing the next day.
The four services, priced
Times and per-card rates below are the wiki’s published figures, and they are all the wiki publishes. A full submission therefore costs eight times the rate in the third column plus the flat $10 shipping fee, which is a multiplication you can do at the counter.
| Service | Time (days) | Price per card |
|---|---|---|
| Value | 12 | $10 |
| Standard | 7 | $40 |
| Express | 4 | $200 |
| Premium | 2 | $1,500 |
Premium costs 150 times the Value rate to save 10 days, and nothing in the sources says a faster service returns better grades. Express and Premium buy time only, which matters when a play table event has pushed a card’s market price up and you want the slab back before nightly drift pulls it down.
Scanner orders are a different button
The 1.0 roadmap lists “Grading card” and “Scanner order” as two separate completed features. Scanner is a phone app added in build 0.62 that scans an item’s tag so you can buy it in one click. It is a restocking shortcut, not a shipping label. Restock orders follow the Stock Order rules: $2 per box, $5 minimum, 20 unique items per order.
How a grade is rolled
The game picks a probability pool first, then walks the grade down through sequential checks. 96% of cards enter the high quality pool, grades 5 to 10, and 4% enter the low quality pool, grades 1 to 5. The combined probabilities published by the wiki:
| Grade | Probability | Grade | Probability |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 38.40% | 5 | 5.92% |
| 9 | 23.04% | 4 | 1.20% |
| 8 | 17.28% | 3 | 0.60% |
| 7 | 8.64% | 2 | 0.30% |
| 6 | 4.32% | 1 | 0.30% |
Roughly four in five submissions come back at 8 or better, and more than a third at 10. At Value service, $90 buys 8 rolls that each start with a 38.40% shot at a top grade, so your break-even card is cheaper than players assume.
Regrading, and the long road to grade 1
Regrading is a three way roll: 30% one grade up, capped at 10, 40% no change, 30% one grade down, floored at 1. The wiki’s note is blunt, that grades 1 to 4 are extremely rare from an initial submission and regrading is the most reliable way to obtain lower grades. That is what makes the grade 1 to 10 set achievement expensive, because no amount of pack opening farms a grade 2.
What graded cards actually pay
There is no fixed price list, and that is the part most guides skip. Graded card value varies per save file and is set when a new game is created, the same rule that covers every stock item. A grade then either raises or lowers the card relative to its ungraded self.
The anchors that do exist in the sources:
- Nightly drift. Market prices are recalculated every night, with a 40% chance per item to move 0.8% to 2%, and values clamped between 20% and 200% of the rolled starting price.
- A six figure ceiling. Graded Gold wants a graded card sold for more than $100,000, so the top of this market clears six figures on at least some saves.
One caveat applies to every figure above: these are community wiki pages last edited before 1.0, and the 1.0 changelist includes “Adjusted Tetramon card stats”.
The five grading achievements
The 1.0 changelist added 5 new Steam achievements, taking the documented total to 45. The last five are the grading line.
| Achievement | Condition |
|---|---|
| Grading Apprentice | Obtained 10 Gem Mint graded cards |
| Grading Prodigy | Obtained 100 Gem Mint graded cards |
| Grading Master | Obtained 500 Gem Mint graded cards |
| Obsessed With Grades | Collected a set of cards from grade 1 to 10 |
| Graded Gold | Sold graded card worth more than $100,000 |
Build 1.01 smoothed the pipeline: right click now skips the graded card opening sequence entirely, and you hold all the graded cards when it ends.
Bulk boxes, the other grade ladder
Different system, same vocabulary. The Workbench bundles junk cards into graded bulk boxes, and the wiki market table prices the Tetramon Base boxes at $10.00 Low, $60.00 High, $120.00 Master and $250.00 Perfect base cost, with Destiny at $15.00, $75.00, $150.00 and $300.00, and all eight sit on a x1 to x1 multiplier band against x1.5 to x2 for a Basic Card Pack. The 1.0 announcement puts the Workbench at shop level 7.
Compare license fees on the stock order ledger, run the pack odds calculator before committing cash to packs, and see the achievement list for where grading sits next to the other 40 unlocks. New to the shop loop? Start with the beginner guide.

Questions on this guide
How many cards can I send to grading at once?
Eight per submission, four submissions active at once, so 32 cards travel together.
What are the odds of a grade 10?
The wiki puts grade 10 at 38.40%, because 96% of submissions land in the 5 to 10 pool.
Does grading always increase a card's value?
No. A grade raises or lowers the card against its ungraded self, and values are rolled per save file.
